Mobility Partnerships offer a political framework for comprehensive, enhanced and tailor-made dialogue and cooperation with partner countries, including a set of targets and commitments as well as a package of specific support measures offered by the European Union (EU) and interested EU Member States (EU MS). MPs represent the most elaborated, bilateral cooperation frameworks under the EU’s Global Approach to Migration and Mobility (GAMM). In concrete terms, the Mobility Partnership Facility (MPF) supports the preparation and implementation of MPs as well as Common Agendas on Migration and Mobility (CAMMs) by providing targeted, flexible and tailor-made assistance to the EU’s partner countries covered by these instruments.
Under the MPF, the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) has been entrusted by the European Commission to modernise the way data on past, ongoing and future initiatives and projects within the framework of MPs and CAMMs are collected. This is the main aim of this platform, designed as a monitoring and analytical tool which can generate knowledge and extract consistent and coherent information feeding into the monitoring of MPs and CAMMs implementation and decision-making processes.
