The State Border Guard College of Latvia implemented these Actions in coordination with the Border Police of the Ministry of the Interior of Georgia and the General Inspectorate of Border Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Moldova.

Implemented by the State Border Guard College of Latvia, both Actions aimed at supporting the border management capacities of the Border Police of Georgia and Moldova in the area of dog handling. Throughout a set of activities composed of both theoretical and practical training sessions, the Actions intended to involve a number of 40 K-9 trainers. The Actions were taking place simultaneously and included cross-cutting activities.

Workshops for dog handlers

Theoretical and practical workshops were organised in both countries and focused on the methodology of training of service dogs used in the EU Member States. The workshops included a crosscutting component with the involvement of participants from both countries. 3 workshops in Moldova and 3 workshops in Georgia

Training sessions

K-9 trainers from both countries followed a dedicated course focusing on the Latvian experience for training of figurants and service dogs, preparation of programmes and organisation of evaluation. The training sessions have taken place in Latvia. Including the procurement of equipment necessary for the training activities
