DIGI TALENTS programme media events: a successful kick-off

"Digital Talents for Moldova – Slovakia for Talents (DIGI TALENTS)" is a Slovak-Moldovan labour mobility and career development programme designed for young Moldovan professionals working in the ICT sector. Its main goal is to help Moldovan talents strengthen their professional skills and acquire new knowledge in a stimulating environment of ICT companies in Slovakia, thus improving their employment or business prospects.

Human Trafficking along the Brenner Route, at the border between Italy and Austria: Stories from Women, Mothers and Survivors

Every year, thousands of women and girls fall into the hands of traffickers in their country of origin, on their way to Europe, within the European Union (EU) or during several phases of their migration journey. Given the underground nature of the criminal networks and poor data collection systems, the actual number of victims is difficult to assess and is likely to be underestimated. According to available EU data, the majority of human trafficking victims are still women and girls, with three-quarters of registered victims being female. Women and girls are primarily trafficked for sexual exploitation purposes.

Recent developments in the Prague Process

Event takeaways: Talent Partnerships & the potential role of diaspora

On Wednesday 22 September, the European Union Global Diaspora Facility (EUDiF) and the Migration Partnership Facility (MPF) hosted a webinar to present and further discuss the results of the newly published research on the potential role of the diaspora in the implementation of Talent Partnerships (TPs) with the researchers and representatives of each of the types of actor featured. Digital Explorers Interview: Insights from the participants

In 2019, fifteen Nigerian software developers, quality assurance specialists and data scientists took up their new positions at various Lithuanian companies. They were the first “explorers” to enter the labour mobility scheme Digital Explorers which brings young ICT (Information and communications technology) specialists from Nigeria to Lithuania for a career advancement programme. Funded by the European Union (EU) through ICMPD’s Mobility Partnership Facility (MPF), the initiative aimed to enhance the young specialists’ skills and competencies while contributing to the development of relevant business networks in both countries.

From Pilot Projects to Talent Partnerships: Exploring the future of legal migration to the EU

In February, the ICMPD and the Directorate-General Migration and Home Affairs (DG HOME) co-hosted the workshop “From Pilot Projects to Talent Partnerships – Exploring the future of legal migration to the European Union (EU)” bringing together EU actors, member state and partner country representatives, and labour mobility project practitioners. The workshop was organised to share and reflect on stakeholders’ hands-on experience of implementing pilot projects on labour migration as the EU is gearing up to launch a new policy framework for cooperation on legal migration.
